Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data RopeMaster collects when you visit this website or buy a RopeMaster 4000, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what rights you have over it. It applies to ropemaster.eu.
Last updated: 12 August 2026.
Who we are
RopeMaster builds and sells the RopeMaster 4000 rope-making machine. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
- Address: Karukella tn 1, Kangru küla, Harju maakond, Estonia
- Email: ropemaster@ledpuu.ee
If you have any question about this policy or about your data, email us. We answer our own email.
What we collect, and why
When you place an order
To sell and ship you a machine we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number (if you provide one), the items you ordered, the order value, and your IP address at the time of the order.
We need this to perform the contract you enter into when you buy from us, and to meet our legal obligations — Estonian and EU law requires us to keep accounting records of sales.
When you pay
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's payment form and are sent to Stripe, not to us. We never see, receive or store your full card number. We receive only confirmation of payment plus limited details such as the card brand and last four digits, so we can match a payment to an order and handle refunds.
Stripe processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
If you pay by bank transfer, your payment reaches us through your bank and our bank, and the transfer details (your name, account details and reference) appear on our bank statement.
When you create an account
If you create a customer account, we store your username, email address, password (encrypted — we cannot read it), and the addresses and order history associated with the account. You can ask us to delete the account at any time.
When you email us
We keep the correspondence so we can answer you and handle any follow-up about your order, warranty or return.
When you simply visit the site
Our web server records standard technical information: your IP address, the pages requested, the time, your browser and operating system. This is ordinary server logging, used to keep the site running and secure. Our security software also records IP addresses and request details in order to detect and block attacks. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the shop available and protected from abuse.
WooCommerce may also determine your approximate country from your IP address, using a MaxMind geolocation database, so that shipping and tax can be shown correctly.
Cookies and analytics
Necessary cookies. WooCommerce sets cookies to remember the contents of your cart and to keep you logged in during checkout. The shop cannot work without these.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which products they look at, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address and usage data. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
You can refuse or withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time through the cookie banner on this site, and you can clear cookies in your browser settings at any point.
Who your data is shared with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers we need in order to run the shop:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our web host — the servers that store the website and its database, located in Estonia (European Union).
- Postal and courier services — your name, delivery address and, where required for delivery notifications, your email address or phone number. Which carrier depends on your destination.
- Google — analytics data, as described above.
- Our bank — for bank transfer payments and refunds.
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, for example to tax authorities or in response to a lawful request.
Transfers outside the EU
The website and its database are hosted in Estonia. Some of our providers — notably Stripe and Google — are established outside the European Economic Area or may process data outside it. Where that happens, those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
If you order from outside the EU, your name and delivery address will also be passed to the carrier and to the customs authorities of the destination country, because delivery is impossible otherwise.
How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records — seven years from the end of the financial year, as required by Estonian accounting law.
- Customer accounts — until you ask us to delete the account.
- Email correspondence — normally up to three years, so we can deal with warranty and return questions.
- Server and security logs — a short period, typically weeks to a few months, then overwritten.
- Analytics data — according to the retention period set in Google Analytics, up to fourteen months.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, where we are not required to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent — this does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email ropemaster@ledpuu.ee. We will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), www.aki.ee, or to the supervisory authority in your own country of residence.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than slipped in quietly.
